HERE ARE SIX (6) BIBLICAL WAYS OF PROTESTING

HERE ARE SIX (6) BIBLICAL WAYS OF PROTESTING

a- Engage in private consultations: David entered into consultation with one of his best friends to find a solution to Saul’s hatred (1 Sam 19: 1-5; Esther 3: 11-14; 4: 13- 16; 7: 5-6,10; 1 Kings 12: 1-15).

b- Be non-cooperative and undertake the boycott: Jesus protested when he remained silent before Pilate and refused to cooperate (Matthew 27:14). When Paul and Barnabas were driven out of Antioch by city officials, they shook the dust off their feet in protest against them in Acts 13:51 as Jesus commanded them (Luke 10: 10-11).

c- Make a trial (Disputes) (Luke 12,58; 18,1-5; Acts 21-26) The reason why Paul appealed to Caesar in the Roman judicial system in Acts 24:26 is because that his civil rights had been violated. He was a good steward of the civil liberties that God had given him.

d- Organize visible public gatherings, marches and demonstrations (Luke 10,10-11; Isaiah 20; Jeremiah 13; Ezek 3,4,24,33; I Kings 18,19-21; Mat 3,1-4) Jesus censured Herod publicly for his death threats (Luke 13,31-32).

e- Erect Barricades: this is a non-violent intervention (Mark 11: 15-16)

f- Expressing Civil Disobedience (Acts 5:29; 4: 19-20; Daniel 6:10; 2:49; 3: 4-5,16-18; Ex 1: 15-17; 2: 2-3; Esther 4: 10-16; 3: 1-4,6-11; Ezra 4:17, 21-24; 5: 1-3; Haggai 2: 1-2,4-9; 1: 12-14).
